HELIOS 3D contains a fully integrated module for yield assessment. That allows calculating the yield with a simulated or the real cabling as designed in the Electric module. In the first stage (without complete electric design), the table layout can already be optimized according to the yield. You can compare different layouts and calculate ideal table adjustments and module inclination angles under consideration of meteorological data. We use the data of the well-respected company Meteotest from Swiss, which are used in PVsyst as well.
The yield assessment can be started with a few clicks and calculates the expected yield quick and with a lot of details. The calculation basics are designed in cooperation with and certified by the Fraunhofer ITWM. This Yield Assessment is a reliable tool for optimizing a plant layout.
The final dates can be exported in a clearly arranged report for documentation or comparison
The results of the calculation can be visualized in our Browser Viewer to see the performance of distinct racks and even strings in a 3D scene. You can even get information about distinct strings by just pointing at them. When the yield calculation is done with an existing electric layout, losses caused by the run of any cable get calculated and can be displayed in Browser Viewer (and in HELIOS 3D). By that non-ideal cable runs and length can be easily visualized and detected to optimize the layout.
This new block extends the functional range for creating large scale photovoltaic power plants with high planning reliability and yield optimization.

Performance overview for individual strings
Neues
We have put a lot of effort in enhancing the usability of HELIOS 3D. Functions of the workflow, belonging together, are grouped now in specific tabs. Completely reworked interface to have less mouse clicks and a more intuitive, faster workflow. Collection of related functions and information in respective tabs and function windows (everything under one roof).
Helpful for an easy storage and reuse of AutoCAD Blocks, which you use in the 2D and 3D Layouts. You can define individual structures for easy access to your personal 3D objects. With these objects you can create a more realistic 3D scene for the Browser Viewer.
This function allows freezing and thawing of layer with one click and saving or restoring a HELIOS 3D related layer visibility settings. That means you can create different display profiles for different work steps to enhance your workflow. That allows quick adjustment of the display according to the current task.
Allows changing the row and array labels individually for a completed layout. The label texts can be changed at any time and numbers can be counted row wise, field wise or field comprehensive.
Define your own slope intervals for colored display.
For a reduced post list, you can create a marker scheme and afterwards list the marked posts only on a report.
In the new version HELIOS now supports a new system of single-axis trackers. The rotation axes for the rows with north-south orientation are connected by the drive shaft of the central control unit.
First step is seperating an area into tracker blocks optimized for the maximum tracker size. For the rows of racks, a rotation axis can be defined and different rows are connected by a drive shaft. For the axis and the shaft maximum slope angles can be defined.
The generated blocks can be registered as fields with predefined settings for quick and easy placement.
After starting the shading analysis, HELIOS will show the distinct amount of shading for each module to give a better understanding.
Placement results can be frozen which allows e.g. replacing the layout with a different module inclination angle. (for a targeted Wp). HELIOS will keep the start points of the rows for the placement with different rack inclination angles.
New PVsyst Export with the field selection option and registered shadow objects.
Yield calculation in PVSyst for large projects can be very time consuming. To give more flexibility, HELIOS can export now selected fields.
Terrain analysis inside the Browser Viewer (direction, tilt, tilt in specific orientation, level, raindrop)
The Browser Viewer contains different analysis functions and allows transferring the results back to the CAD.
Racks with individual yield calculation
Water flow analysis
Extended features
Browser Viewer with many extensions for appealing visualizations. Visualization of calculation results, cable losses and yield are only some examples of the enhancements.
The result statistics have been extended and the contents can be adjusted individually.
Assignment of alternative string definitions is possible now. This is an important option, when the standard definition is not applicable.
Helios now calculates cable losses for each string cable individual depending on it’s parameters (length, material, cross section)
Individual change of the cable cross-sections possible.
Declare “inactive/fake” PV modules on arrays is possible now.
The numbering and labelling of electrical stringing can be revised subsequently.
The resulting statistics have been enhanced and are customizable.
HELIOS 3D can only be used in combination with AutoCad Civil 3D !
